Schedule Update for HS girls basketball!!
We have a home game that was just schedule with Johnston City on 12/8/22
Big Night for Redbird Athletics tonight!
The HS girls will travel to Benton tonight for a game. JV starts at 6:15
Our HS wrestling team will be having a conference match tonight in our auditorium against Carterville and Murphysboro that starts at 6pm.
Our HS boys basketball team will take on Christopher in their home opener. JV starts at 6:15.
Come out and Support these Redbirds!
Tonight's theme for the Chant team is Construction. Any HS or Central student dressed in the theme will get in free to the home events tonight. Also any HS or Central student that wears red or a redbird shirt will get into the game for free.

Wear a hat for Piper day will be December 9th. Any student that brings at least one dollar for Piper and her family will be able to wear a hat on December 9th. K-8 students will give the dollar to their homeroom teacher. HS students will give their dollar as they walk into the building.

Tonight and this weekend is pretty busy for FCHS Athletics. The HS boys basketball team will play one game tonight at Duquoin and two games tomorrow. I attached the schedule to show the times of the games.
The HS wrestling team will be competing at Lawrenceville tomorrow. The matches start at 9am.

We have our first home wrestling meet tonight! Please come out and support our wrestling team. It is a tri match with Carlyle and Goreville! The match will be in Max Morris. Start time is 6:30pm.

The district is thankful for our FCHS Redbird Chant Team. These students stayed after the girls game last night and swept up in the student section. It is greatly appreciated and it does not go unnoticed! It makes me proud when students go above and beyond for their school. Thank you FCHS Chant Team!!

As we begin our drive to the end of the first semester on Tuesday, December 20, we have an update on the cause of our smoke issue at CJHS last week. Our staff and contractors traced the problem to a one year old Variable Air Volume (VAV) box in our HVAC system. A bit of insulation came unglued and got close to the heating element. This caused the brief smoke issue. As we told the student last Tuesday, they did a great job of evacuating the building in a safe and orderly manner. We welcome everyone back to school on Monday, November 28.
