Denning Elementary School

Frankfort Community Unit School District #168 acknowledges support from the Illinois Art Council for their partnership in the Denning Elementary Creative Learning Grant. Each month, students will receive the opportunity to participate in a literacy-based art project in partnership with Cedarhurst Center for the Arts. This month's masterpiece was based on Where the Wild Things Are written by Maurice Sendak. Denning Elementary will host an Art Showcase in the spring to feature students' art. Every student will also be provided 4 art project books for their home library and participate in art extension activities during our Art WIN time at DES. "Every child is an artist..." 🖼️

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Fall Fundraiser. Several of our students sold over 20 items and they got to celebrate with a pizza party with Mrs. Holevoet. Those who kept going and sold 30 or more items, they got to soak Mrs. Holevoet with a cold bucket of water! Some of our teachers even jumped in on the fun. The kids loved it.

Olivia is our wing leader this week! She does a great job watching the tray line and passing out bird bucks to students waiting patiently, making good choices, and being leaders in line.

Here are 2 more great assets to Denning. We can't thank Mrs. Pam and Mrs. Pat for all they do on a daily basis.
