November Newsletter

The 2nd Grade Making of America Play was spectacular! Students, teachers, and staff really outdid themselves this year. Bravo, bravo! 👏🏼 🇺🇸
A special thank you to our veterans and first responders. We are grateful and humbled by your sacrifice for our families, community, and country.

From District 168: This is a reminder that after we held various programs to honor our Veterans at our schools on Friday, there will be no school on Monday, November 11, 2024, in honor of Veteran's Day. We thank all Veterans for their service. School will resume on Tuesday.

DES 2nd grade Patriotic Play

Reminder

Our October MVP is one of Denning's best! Mrs. Darnell goes above and beyond for students, is a great teammate, always has a positive attitude, and her impact at DES is immeasurable. We think she is pretty special. ♥️

Our first grade class learned about voting on Monday. We each took a turn to vote in a private spot. Each child predicted who they thought would win our class vote. We counted our votes and graphed them. The class voted for Donald Trump.

DES Picture Day

We love when we get to high five the High School athletes. Our kiddos love to be greeted by all of them.
Let's go Birds!!!

Drop everything and read. Each student had a witch finger to be able to read along to a story. Everyone stopped what they were doing and read a Halloween book. It was fun to walk around and watch them read along with their fingers.

Another Fun week at Denning!
We had so many participate in this week's activities. 🎃🦹🏻

For Halloween, Mrs. Smith's Kinder Class got "witchy" fingers to help us follow along in a book!

From District 168: our four schools are experiencing the same power issues the whole community is at this time. We are continuing our regular instructional day and meals and expect regular dismissal time today. If anything changes we will let you know.

DES chaperones are the best of the best. They work hard to ensure our students practice emotional intelligence-Inside Out!

Drop Everything and Read! DES students showcased their reading skills this morning, with witch fingers and a few special guests. Happy Halloween! 🎃
