Frankfort CUSD #168 officials have been made aware through a social media post that teachers from American Federation of Teachers Local #817, IFT-AFT, AFL-CIO, held a vote this afternoon to file an “Intent to Strike” notice with the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board.
School will remain in regular session at this time while the Board of Education continues to meet for bargaining sessions with the Teachers’ Union to find an agreement on a contract that best serves our students and community by keeping all of our faculty and staff employed while keeping District #168 on a firm financial footing in the continuing and unpredictable financial times ahead. More information will be released to our students and families in the coming days to answer questions that may come up regarding any potential schedule adjustments.
